  • Fifth Grade Chorus is a performing musical ensemble that allows students to make friends, sing in a minimum of 3 concerts per year and have a blast doing it!  Improve your singing, perform different styles of music and become a better musician! 

    Days:  Thursdays (afterschool), (8th period rehearsal on Tuesday’s)

    Time: 2:15-3:00pm

    Number of Participants: As many as possible

    Location: 6F

  • Art club is designed for those who love making and creating artwork. Art club gives these students the time and materials to create and design bonus art projects.

    Grade Level: 5th & 6th Grades; 7th & 8th Grades

    Days: Thursdays October-May

    Time:  5th and 6th Grades:  3:00-4:00

    7th and 8th Grades:  2:15-3:00

    Number of Participants: 20 per session (multiple sessions throughout the school year based on total number of participants)

  • Do you like impressing your friends with your intelligence? Is your brain full of random facts? ACB is the club for you! ACB is a trivia competition team that is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. We compete against teams from other schools in the area by answering questions from a wide range of topics including:art, biology, chemistry, current events, geography, history, literature, music, political science, pop culture, religion and sports. And, if you enjoy ACB, MasterMinds is the next step at the high school. New members are always welcome! 

    Grade Level: 6th, 7th, and 8th 

    Days:  TBD, but most likely the first and third Tuesday of each Month

    Time:  3:00-4:00

  • Do you love to bake and enjoy sweet treats? Then baking club is the club for you. Each session is 5 Thursdays long and you will have the opportunity to follow a recipe and make a new treat each week. 

    Grade Level: 5th-8th

    Days:  Thursdays 

    Time:  Time varies: could be 2:20-3:00 or 3:00-4:00 

    Number of Participants: 10 per session

  • Do you enjoy making new friends and doing fun activities? Then Best Buddies if for you. Best Buddies fosters one-to-one friendships between middle school students with and without IDD, in which they share interests, experiences, and activities. Best Buddies Middle Schools helps to create an inclusive middle school culture for all students early on in their educational development.

    Grade Level: 5th-8th

  • Do you enjoy helping others? Are you a positive role model for your peers? Consider joining Character Council! Character Council members will participate in activities centered around our monthly character traits. We will work on promoting good character, both in the building and within our community.

    Grade Level: Students in grades 5-6

    Days: 3rd Thursday of each month, October-May

    Time: 3:00-4:00

    Number of Participants: Maximum of 10 participants per session

  • Computer science club is the place for you to begin to learn programming and coding.  We are going to use the Code Combat and Ozaria online programs this year to introduce and investigate computer programming and coding with JavaScript, Python, and/or C++.  If you like to collaborate with your classmates and solve problems, Computer Science Club is the club for you! 

    Grade Level: 7th and 8th 

    Days:  TBD, but most likely the second and fourth Tuesday of each month

    Time:  3:00-4:00 

    Number of Participants: Up to 12

  • This club is perfect for student seeking a literary challenge, focusing on bildungsroman texts – stories that explore the journey of a protagonist through adolescence.  Members will dive into both traditional and non-traditional narratives, examining how characters develop their identities, values and self understanding in response to the world around them.  Students will also have the chance to reflect on their own coming-of-age experiences as young adults at Wayne Middle School.  Through in-depth discussions and collaborative activities participants will engage in meaningful exploration of literature in a supportive and stimulating environment. 

    Grade Level:  7th and 8th Grade

  • Do you enjoy hanging out with friends playing cards and board games? Then Games Cub is the club for you! You pick the games you want to play and enjoy time with friends. Some examples of board games: Connect 4, Clue, Uno, Yahtzee, Heads Up, Headbanz, Sorry, Battleship, Checkers, Doodle Dice, and many more.

    Grade Level: 5th -8th 

    Days: Third Monday of the Month, October -May

  • GSA’s mission is to provide a SAFE place for LGBTQIA+ students and allies to come together to foster Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within our school community. There will be a special focus on Anti-Bullying resources within our middle school.

    Grade Level: 7th + 8th

    Days:  4th Friday of every month

    Time: 2:15-3:00

    Number of Participants: Up to 25 students per meeting.

  • Do you love history? Come and learn about celebrations from around the world, learn and discuss different perspectives on historical events, make crafts, play games, and more! 

    Grade Level: 5-6

    Days: Second Tuesday of each month 

    Time: 3:00 - 4:00

  • Jazz Band is a performing musical ensemble that allows students to make friends, perform in a minimum of 2 concerts per year and have a blast doing it!  Improve your playing, perform different styles of music and become a better musician! 

    Grade Level: 6-8 (5th Graders accepted based on lesson book progress)

    Days:  Wednesdays (afterschool)

    Time: 2:15-3:00pm

    Number of Participants: As many as that are interested

  • Join the Wayne Eagle Newspaper Club, where your voice is at the heart of our publication!  In this club, students will learn the ins and outs of journalism, from writing articles and structuring news stories to designing eye-catching layouts using Google Slides.  The only requrements are that each member contributes at least one article per issue and attends club meetings.  We publish several issues throughtout the year, so there’s always an opportunity to get involved.  Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just curious, everyone is welcome.  Come be a part of the excitement today!

    Grade Levels: 7 & 8

  • We will design and construct vehicles to perform pre-determined challenges. We will use legos and robotic coding to perform these tasks. Students wishing to participate should be willing to work with others, problems solve, and persevere.

    Grade Level: 5th -6th 

    Days: 1st and 3rd Thursdays- Two sessions- Schedule will be provided for each session.

    Time: 3:00-4:00

    Number of Participants: Due to the limited number of Lego Mindstorms and space, their can be no more than 10 students per session. If there is a large number of students interested in participating, there will be a lottery drawing.

  • The school musical is open to anyone that has a passion for musical theater.  Students wishing to perform in the show must audition. Please pay attention to morning announcements for audition details.

    Grade Level: 5-8

    Days:   Tuesdays 6-8:30 pm and Thursdays 3-4 September-December, Additional Dates in January 

    Time: Show

    Number of Participants: As many as possible

    Location: Cafeteria/Stage 

    **Small participation fee to cover scripts/t-shirts that students will keep.  Scholarships are available from The Friends of Music if needed.

     

  • Ski and Snowboard Club is all about having fun outdoors at Bristol Mountain! We go 6 Saturdays during the winter, and have a blast! Students can rent equipment or use their own. Lessons are available for all levels. MANY of our participants are first time skiers and boarders!! Students in grades 5-8 may participate- we take beginners all the way to advanced! It’s a great way to get outdoors, enjoy the snow, and have fun with your friends!! Watch for announcements coming in October!! 

    Grade Level:  Students in grades 5-8.  Parents may purchase passes too!

    Days: 6 winter Saturdays: January- March

    Time: 7:30-5:00

    Number of Participants: as many as are interested, usually 30-40

    Location: Bristol Mountain 

    *Participants pay for lift tickets, equipment rental, lessons and bus transportation. Scholarships are available.

     

  • Are you interested in experiencing cultural activities from Spanish-speaking countries? Would you like the opportunity to talk with native Spanish speakers, learn a new dance, or try a new food? Make this year exciting by joining Spanish Club! It’s interactive and fun - you’ll love it!

    Grade Level: 7th + 8th

    Day/Time: Usually Fridays 2:15-3:00 pm 

    (sometimes Tuesdays or Thursdays 2:15-4:00 pm)

  • Come join Wayne Middle Schools Student Council.  We plan fun, positive, uplifting activities for the school. We are a student led club. You will have an opportunity to run for office and therefore be a integral part of running our meetings as well.  If you are positive, full of amazing ideas and want to join please listen to the announcements for more information or contact Mrs. Oeschger and Mrs. Allen

  • TSA is a national non-profit organization devoted exclusively to the needs of elementary, middle and high school students with a dedicated interest in technology. Assisting TSA's 170,000 plus student members is a strong support system of educators, alumni, parents and business leaders who believe in the importance of a technologically literate society. TSA also sponsors Tech Wars competitions where students compete in technology based challenges against schools throughout NY

    Days: one Tuesday a month and as need to prepare the kids for competitions.

  • Students work together to learn the game of Chess. Students will compete in chess games each week, learn new strategies, and have a great time! Multiple sessions will be held to maximize student participation.

    Grade Level: 5th - 8th Grade

    Days: Thursdays- 2nd and 4th of each month

  • Gardening club offers students to learn about the different aspects of gardening. Students will help with maintaining, planting and weeding gardens in the middle school courtyard, planting and growing from seeds, and the basics of perennials and annuals.

    Grade Level: 5th - 8th Grades

  • 7th and 8th graders work together as photographers, designers, and editors to create a yearbook for the Middle School.
